I am Amy, I started RoseThreads in 2011 after several years of making my children's Halloween costumes and eventually working with our school's drama department as the Costume Coordinator. I really enjoyed designing the costumes, finding just the right fabrics, coordinating my seamstresses and working tirelessly to make sure each child in the production was perfectly costumed for opening night. As my drama kid moved on, my job was done with the drama department, but my sewing was not. So, I found a new way to use my skills; Rosethreads was born.
In the beginning, I only specialized in handmade purses and totes, they were adorable and I couldn't keep up with the demand, I was in a local vintage store and my purses were a hit. The owner approached me and asked why don't I try my hand at little girls' dresses, so I did. People were so receptive of my simple pillowcase dresses that I decided to expand to rompers, peasants, and the variety you see today.
Since I love to create, I have expanded my dresses to include more purses and handbags. Most recently I started making handmade pillow covers, by using high quality, yet budget friendly upholstery weight fabrics, I have started a whole new line of RoseThreads products.
RoseThreads is primarily online, however, you will find me at Fancy Flea in Plant City, FL each April and November, just look for the "pink tent" and pop in and say 'hi' and see what's new.
Make sure to follow my blog as I continue to introduce myself, my items, and my musings. Sometimes it may be tips on sewing, other times where I find my inspiration and fabric choices. I love to hear from my customers, so feel free to comment on my blog!
Talk to you soon!
